Q : What is a NIF and do i need one ?
A : Your NIF or Número de Identificação Fiscal (sometimes referred to as the Número de Contribuinte) is your Portuguese Tax Identification number that you will need for financial transactions in the country and everyday activities. This includes opening a Portuguese bank account, getting a phone subscription, securing a rental property agreement, and even health insurance.
Q : How long does it take to receive a NIF?
A : 7-10 working days, sometimes longer if the Portuguese Tax Office is experiencing delays. If you have ordered for a NIF number on an urgent basis, you shall get your NIF in 2 working days.
Q : How long does it take get my NIF Password?
A : 7-14 working days, after you have received your NIF. If you have ordered for a NIF number on an urgent basis, you shall receive your password within 4-7 working days after getting your NIF.
Q : What’s the process of obtaining a NIF with M Global?
A : Place an order on our website, submit your documents. Your signature should be same as displayed on the Passport. We processes your request with the Tax office in Portugal and you will receive your NIF, Password and access to the Finances Portal.
Q : What document can I use as proof of address?
A : Proof of address should be a recent utility bill, a bank statement issued within the last 90 days, or a copy of the front and back of a valid driver's license displaying the residential address in full.
Q : How do I send a copy of my passport?
A : Passport copy should include both the photo and signature pages in full, and your hands should not be visible.
Q : Are all nationalities covered?

A : Yes, just fill out the form with your child’s details. Note that if your child is under the age of 18, both parents will need to sign the power of attorney.
